TODAY, RUN FOR 25 MINUTES AT 60% MHR: Your heart rate, or pulse rate, is your fitness tachometer. The pulse rate/tachometer is typically at idle first thing in the morning when you are still in bed. This rate is referred to as your "resting pulse rate." Take your resting pulse rate first thing every morning, before you even sit up. Your resting pulse is also a valuable training tool because a decrease reflects an increase in fitness, whereas a rise in your resting pulse rate can indicate you are overtraining.
