TODAY, RUN FOR 40 MINUTES AT 70% MHR: Another way to avoid overuse injuries is to pick your running surfaces wisely. If you can avoid it, don't run on concrete sidewalks. If you're running a course where you have a choice between concrete sidewalks and an asphalt bike path or roadside, always choose the asphalt. One problem many of us have on longer runs is chafing on the inner thighs. This problem is easily remedied with a good pair of form-fitting running shorts.
