Day 015 - Injury prevention

MAKE TODAY A REST DAY: Our theme for this week is injury prevention. Now that you know how to set up your workouts and where to do them, it's not too early to think about injuries and how to avoid them. Runners are most susceptible to overuse injuries. These injuries are not caused by trauma, such as when you fall and break a bone, but by repeatedly applying the same type of stress to the same parts of the body over a long period -- for example, by running almost every day for several weeks at a stretch. This cumulative stress can eventually cause injury to one or more muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, etc. One way to ease the stress on sore, sweaty feet after a long run is to change into a pair of sandals.
