IT'S A REST DAY: Sometimes on steep, fast descents, your bike may shake frighteningly. It's called "speed wobble." It can be caused by many factors including an out-of-true (not perfectly round) front wheel or a gusty crosswind. If your bike starts to shake, clamp the top tube between your knees to dampen the vibrations. Don't hit the brakes hard in panic. Relax your upper body and ease the brakes on gently to scrub some speed. When you get home, have a good bike shop examine your bike for a wobbly front wheel, a loose headset (the part that holds the fork and the frame together), or a frame that's out of line.
