100-Mile Century Ride
Day 028 - Side-by-side or single file?
2.75-hour ride at RPE 6-7, including climbs or hard riding at RPE 8-9
|
RIDE FOR TWO HOURS AND 45 MINUTES AT RPE 6-7. INCLUDE SOME 5-10 MINUTE CLIMBS OR HARD RIDING AT RPE 8-9: If you ride with a friend, maybe you've wondered when it's okay to ride side-by-side. Although laws differ slightly from one state or locality to another, it's generally safe to ride two abreast when you're cycling on a wide shoulder. On a narrow road, ride single file as soon as a vehicle, approaching from either the front or rear, gets within 300 feet. And never obstruct traffic on a narrow climb by riding along talking -- get into a single line and let cars pass safely.
