Day 008 - Cross Training

Cross Train with an activity of your choice. 1 hour.        Training via ActiveMail

TODAY IS A CROSS-TRAINING DAY. Take the day off from your regular workouts and try something new. Exercise for 30-45 minutes. Most of all, have fun!

Cross training is simply the rotation of sports and fitness activities on different days. It helps to enhance sport-specific training and prevent injuries, by distributing the stress of exercise to different joints and muscle groups. Over time, your body will get used to a specific activity and hit a plateau, sending you into cruise control. To stay challenged both mentally and physically, choose a sport that you typically don't do during the week, or try something completely new. For winter sports training, try in-line skating, skateboarding, road cycling, mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, lap swimming, soccer, and racquet sports. Find something that's enjoyable and stimulates your brain and your muscles to team up for the challenge. HAVE FUN!
