IT'S A REST DAY: Should you ride in a group, with a training partner, or solo? Each has its advantages and drawbacks. When you ride by yourself, you can set your own pace and you don't have to wait for companions who are slower or have gotten a flat. On the other hand, a training buddy can encourage you to get out, even if it's raining or your motivation has slacked off. Group riding teaches you how to handle pacelines, and it's fun to draft in a big group of riders. One approach is to ride alone on weekdays when you're pressed for time and with others on weekends.
