Day 008 - Heart rate monitors

IT'S A REST DAY: The intensity recommendations in this training plan are based on perceived exertion but many riders prefer a heart rate monitor (HRM). Modern HRMs provide accurate readings of how hard your heart is working. Look for a wireless model with a chest strap and a receiver that mounts on your wrist or on the handlebars. We'll examine how to use heart rate monitoring in future tips.
