Day 023 - Conquering hills

RIDE 45 MINUTES AT RPE 6, INCLUDING 4 EFFORTS AT RPE 7-8: Increase your intensity for several minutes (for a total of four times) in the middle of your ride today. Again, moderate hills are a good place to go a little harder. Here are two climbing tips: First, use a lower gear than you think you need on the bottom two thirds of the climb and spin smoothly. With about 100 yards to go, shift to a harder gear, stand up, and roll over the top. Also, keep a good mental attitude. Sure, hills can be hard. But they're part of riding a bike and nothing spikes your fitness faster than time spent climbing.
