RIDE 45 MINUTES AT RPE 6: So far, you've ridden for the same amount of time each day, in order to get accustomed to your bike and to build a base of aerobic fitness. But, after this week, you'll ride for different amounts of time on most days. Your body responds to differing demands -- short rides one day, longer rides the next, easy today, a bit faster tomorrow. If you do the same workout at the same intensity, day after day, you won't improve. It's a recipe for boredom too. We've included one ride each week that's longer than any of the others. Since today is the day before that weekly long ride, today's ride is shorter and easier so you'll be fresh for tomorrow.
