WEEK 7, Day 6: 30-60 minute bike. Keep this ride nice and easy. Today's triathlon tip: On race morning, check your bike carefully. Ideally, you should have done this before you left home, but it's still good to do it again when you're setting up your transition area before the race. Make sure you have enough air in your tires, and pump them up if you don't. Make sure that the quick-release levers holding your wheels onto the frame are tight and that the wheels are aligned. Give each wheel a spin to make sure it spins freely and that the brake pads aren't rubbing--you'll have an awfully slow, tough ride if they are! Shift into the best gear for departure from the transition area (just use the shift lever and turn the pedals by hand to get the bike to shift). And remember to fill your water bottle, although, again, it's best to have done this at home with water that you're used to drinking.
