Day 032 - Bike helmets are required!

Day 30: 30-60 minute bike        Training via ActiveMail

WEEK 5, Day 2: 30-60 minute bike. If you don't have time for the real thing, do this bike ride at the gym. This should be a conversation pace ride, which means you should be able to carry on a conversation with someone as you ride. Today's bike tip: Even if you don't own your own bike and are planning to borrow one for your triathlon, you MUST have a helmet; helmets are mandatory in triathlons, and they can save your life in a crash. Also, your helmet MUST fit properly or it won't protect you adequately. Buy one if you have to; they're not that expensive nowadays. If you're not sure how a helmet should fit properly, go to a good bike or triathlon store and let the staff show you how to adjust it properly. You will need to know how to adjust your helmet because the straps frequently loosen up and need to be re-tightened after a sweaty ride.
