WEEK 2, Day 5: 15-30 minute run/walk. If you're running, increase your time from last week by 10%. If you are walking, try to increase the time you jog in between walking. For example, jog for 1.5-2 minutes out of every five. One of the most important parts of training is to follow what I call the 'Principal of the Heart.' It's a training principle that I use every day in my life and in every workout. It's the reason I have raced successfully for the past thirty years. The Principle of the Heart is as follows: Train with your heart as a way to learn to be more loving with yourself. That's really the essence of your participation in a triathlon--that we choose to take time for ourselves to get healthier, fitter, stronger.
