WALK FOR 75 MINUTES: Walking is an example of cross-training -- a non-running activity that helps your main activity. Cross-training for running doesn't just mean doing a non-running activity. Some sports, such as tennis or basketball, are completely differently from the constant, steady, rhythmic movements of running, so they're not good cross-training for runners. Walking is much better; so are bicycling, swimming, rowing, and cross-country skiing.
