Day 007 - Take walk breaks

FOR TODAY'S WORKOUT, RUN THREE MILES AT AN EASY PACE: Your training program is built around the weekly "long run", which will gradually get longer over the weeks. Today is your first long run. Three miles may not seem that far, or it may be the longest distance you've ever run. Either way, don't plan to run the whole thing without stopping. Throughout this program, your long "runs" should actually be a combination of running and walking. Run a few minutes, then walk 1 or 2 minutes, right from the beginning of the run. This will let you recover faster, and yet you WON'T lose any endurance benefits by walking -- it's a proven fact. So starting today and continuing throughout the program, don't wait to take walk breaks!
