Today is the beginning of the Strength Training phase of your off season program. A program of ""Endurance Lifting"" is outlined in this training guide. Strength training begins with circuit training to condition the body for training in the gym. Circuit training uses approximately 12 different ""push/pull"" exercises (stations) that isolate the major, upper and lower body, muscles in a brisk, high rep routine. Most gyms have a dedicated area for circuit training. The best days for circuit training are your normal hard training days on the bike. After 4 weeks of circuit training you will move on to the Endurance Lifting phase.
