Day 027 - HALFWAY THERE !!!

3000 for time !!!        Training via ActiveMail

3000 for time!!!

(or 4500 if you're so inclined)

Congratulations if you are still with me; you are halfway to a successful ocean swim! With this drill, you ought to see big improvements in both the time it takes you to swim the distance and the effort it takes to complete it. Count your strokes; are they consistent per lap, throughout? Pay attention to your first half vs. your last half; is it a lot faster? It should be even "split" ideally. If not, you are giving it too much gas in the first half (pardon the expression), and not saving enough energy for the last half. Try watching the clock and pacing yourself; teach yourself how it feels to even split; it may feel like you're sprinting a lot more in the second half of your swim!
