Day 007 - RECOVERY

RECOVERY !        Training via ActiveMail

And on the 7th Day...



Recovery day will become your favorite day of the week. I hesitate to call it "rest day" because it doesn't necessarily mean you can be a couch potato and let the last six days be a distant memory. Rather, this is a day where you can choose to do anything you want, or anything that may need extra attention in your training.



For instance, let's say you skipped your day 5 weight routine because you were too sore. Today may be a good day to try it again with less weight.



Or what if you missed your pace drastically on Day 6 ? Perhaps you'll want to do the workout over again, or a part of it.



The again, maybe you miss going on a bike ride or rollerblading, and you'd like to spend some extra time outdoors. Use this day as a "mental health" day where you do whatever it is that pleases you and gives you a "break" if you need it.



For those of you who really need a "Day Off" and who didn't take one during the week when those annoying work-related meetings and business trips may have gotten in the way, feel free to do so today (and, if you DID have to skip a day during the last week, today is your "make-up" day; no cheating!)



In future recovery days I will suggest open water drills and technique, so you will also have the option of using this day as a technical "preparation" day if you'd like, (provided you have access to an open body of water).
