BLOCK 7: WALK FOR 40 MINUTES WITH A DISTANCE GOAL OF 1.9 TO 2 MILES: Regular exercise lowers your heart rate, both when you're at rest and during moderate exercise. This means your heart has to beat fewer times per minute to circulate your body's blood supply. Regular exercise also reduces your blood pressure, again both at rest and during moderate exercise. This allows many people to control high blood pressure through exercise alone rather than medication.
