STRETCHING AT THE END OF A WORKOUT GOES A LONG WAY TOWARDS PREVENTING INJURY. It's kind of like flipping your mattress; everyone know that they should do it regularly, but few people actually take the time. When you exercise, your body tries to repair microtears in your muscle tissue as fast as possible; think of it as fixing a wall by throwing mortar at it. Stretching your muscles aligns the mortar along the chinks where it's needed, while creating nice, long muscles.
