Day 53: Swim 400m, stretch, core

Day 53: Swim 400 meters, stretch, and work on core-strength exercises. The idea behind the taper is to keep your muscles turning over but also to top off your glycogen stores. It is also the time to go over your race mentally, using imagery to go through your transitions and to anticipate all aspects of the race.
