Day 010 - Periodization

45-minute Overdistance (OD) run at level 1 intensity. Level 1 intensity = 60-70% of your max. heart rate.        Training via ActiveMail

TODAY, DO AN OVERDISTANCE (OD) RUN FOR 45 MINUTES AT LEVEL 1 INTENSITY: One of the key principles of this program is periodization. You will notice that for 3 weeks the total time spent exercising increases, while during the 4th week the volume drops slightly. This gradual increase in training stress, followed by a period of reduced training ensures that your body adapts to the training and you'll improve your level of fitness.
