TODAY YOU HAVE A CHOICE: WALK OR CROSS-TRAIN: Are you wondering why your training program is 26 weeks long? The reason is simple. The marathon is 26.2 miles; you're training for it by doing 1 long run each week, starting at 3 miles and building up, 1 mile at a time, to 26. It's actually a little more complicated than that, as you'll see later on, but that's the basic idea.
