Time Trial with your Monitor
Time trialing is similar to racing but it is a way to get a high intensity, long duration workout in.
* Select your favorite training workout.
* After you warm up, use your watch to measure elapsed time and your heart rate monitor to measure average heart rate. Try and hold heart rate steady throughout the workout. Write down in your training log both of these assessment number: total time and average heart rate. Once every month repeat this protocol and watch both your average heart rate and elapsed time improve.
As a matter of fact, a heart rate monitor is one of the best tools we have for experimenting with your body and your training methods and for attaining accurate feedback.
