Everyone knows the old adage "you are what you eat." If you're surviving on a diet of burritos and lo mein, you're undermining a lot of your hard work. Try to eat at home as much as possible. Restaurant food is notoriously unhealthy: Even "lite" menu items may be cooked in butter. By preparing your own meals and bringing them with you to work, you maintain control over the ingredients. So cook an extra portion of spaghetti to eat at lunch the next day, or throw together a tuna sandwich on your way out in the morning . Taking those five extra minutes to prepare your own food will add up to desirable health benefits (reduced fat, cholesterol intake, etc.) in the long run.
