Day 007 - Your first BRICK ("Bike-run-ICK!")--the most important transfer of power

Day 7: Bike 8 miles, run 5 minutes        Training via ActiveMail

Day 7: Bike 8 miles, run 5 minutes: Today you ARE doing your two sports one right after the other. The one complaint of most triathletes is the feeling of "lead legs" when they hop off the bike and start to run. Brick workouts are designed to simulate this transition. So you want to minimize the time between the two activities -- try not to have more than five minutes between them. Have your running shoes ready to go, jump into them and get those legs turning on the pavement! You will feel slow and sluggish--the ""triathlete shuffle""--but as you continue to do your brick workouts, it'll get easier!
