Concentrate on Your Diaphragm

Your breath controls your stress.

While sitting up straight at your chair, put one hand on your upper chest and one hand on your abdomen. Breathe in through your nose concentrating on filling the diaphragm rather than the chest. You’re doing it right when the hand on your diaphragm moves during your inhalation but the hand on your chest remains stationary. Exhale through pursed lips. Repeat 5 times.

As you inhale, repeat a positive statement like “I feel productive and happy today.” As you exhale, imagine that you’re blowing out all your tension and stress with each exhalation.
