Take a Microbreak

Throughout the day, readjust your sitting posture and take 30-second microbreaks right at your workstation to relieve muscle tension. Here's a great microbreak--simply palm your eyes.

Lean your elbows on your desk. Cup your hands and place them lightly over your closed eyes. Hold for 30 seconds while breathing deeply in and out. Slowly uncover your eyes.

While your eyes are covered and you are breathing rhythmically, repeat a positive statement like “I am relaxed and in control,” or “The tension in my shoulders is vanishing.”
