Mind wandering? Get your head in the game with this focusing drill.

Sit upright in your chair, feet flat on the floor and hands palm down on your thighs. Look straight ahead at some object on the wall in front of you—a small geometric design or even the head of a pushpin will do. Breathe in through your nostrils, hold for a few seconds, then exhale through your mouth. Pause a second with your lungs empty, then repeat 5–10 times.
